Soooo....
I've been kept pretty upset by the Obama campaign recently. But that is to be expected in politics. I'm particularly appalled at his campaigns staffers/volunteers/whomevers treatment of Muslim supporters and his views and stance regarding FISA. BUT, I don't want to hurt the good Senator nor harm his chances this November. I have long been a supporter of Obama. Loooong before he mentioned a run for president. (FWIW, it began at the 2006 Campus Progress National Student Conference in DC. I was a fortunate intern at CAP that summer... ahhh memories...)
Meet ya across the fold...
So I'm proposing that the community who have beef with the senator presently, for whatever reason, donate $0.02 to his campaign the bear minimum to his campaign ($5) plus your two cents ($0.02) totaling $5.02. Of course you can donate more... plus $0.02.
This will help the Senator for sure, but it might also register as a quasi-protest. I just did it. Maybe someone else will as well... Imagine if they suddenly got a ton of donations with .02 at the end. I know people have put an extra cent in for identification purposes in other fundraising attempts. Or an .08 for 2008. Et cetera...
Also, I hate to do this but please remember to recommend if this idea is a good one. That's the only way it will work. Otherwise some staffer in Camp Obama will think silly ol' Geoff Miller has a broken 2 key on his keyboard and didn't double check his contribution... thx!
